Police need help after family violence incident

POLICE are calling for witnesses to share information with them after a woman was allegedly assaulted by her partner over an “extended period” in late May.

They are seeking CCTV or dash-cam footage of a woman walking to Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) from Civic between the hours of 7am and 10am on Friday, May 29. The woman had a car following closely behind.

She is believed to have walked to EPIC after being assaulted by her partner on Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29.

Anyone who has any information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website quoting reference number 6544498.

ACT police would also urge anyone experiencing family violence to know police are here to help them, and that they don’t need to stay home if they feel unsafe. If someone experiences, sees or hears family violence occurring call triple zero (000) in an emergency or life threatening situation or police assistance on 131 444 if it is a non-emergency that requires police assistance.
