Prepare before heavy rainfall hits

THE ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is encouraging the community to prepare for potentially damaging, heavy rain, which has been predicted for the weekend.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting 10 to 20mm of rain to fall tomorrow (August 8) and 15 to 25mm on Sunday.

ACT ESA is advising members of the community to minimise damage by ensuring all gutters are clear. The agency asks those with existing damage from recent storm events, to be sure to tarp any areas where water may leak through.

If you need help with damage from storms or floods call ACTSES on 132 500. In a life-threatening emergency call Emergency Triple Zero (000).
