Ramsay gone, greens snare six seats as poll finalised

COUNTING in last weekend’s ACT election was finalised tonight (October 23) confirming a Greens win to Johnathan Davis in Brindabella and Attorney-General Gordon Ramsay losing his seat in Ginninderra, where Liberal Peter Cain claimed the electorate’s fifth seat for the Liberals. 

Gone… Labor’s Gordon Ramsay.

The Greens now hold a record six seats across the ACT, Labor 10 and the Liberals 9.

Electoral Commissioner Damian Cantwell announced the names of those candidates to be elected to the Assembly to represent Canberra’s five electorates.

Elected candidates in the order in which they were successful in the count are:

Brindabella

  • Joy Burch, ACT Labor
  • Mick Gentleman, ACT Labor
  • Nicole Lawder, Canberra Liberals
  • Mark Parton, Canberra Liberals
  • Johnathan Davis, ACT Greens

Ginninderra

  • Yvette Berry, ACT Labor
  • Elizabeth Kikkert, Canberra Liberals
  • Tara Cheyne, ACT Labor
  • Jo Clay, ACT Greens
  • Peter Cain, Canberra Liberals

Kurrajong

  • Andrew Barr, ACT Labor
  • Shane Rattenbury, ACT Greens
  • Rachel Stephen-Smith, ACT Labor
  • Elizabeth Lee, Canberra Liberals
  • Rebecca Vassarotti, ACT Greens

Murrumbidgee

  • Jeremy Hanson, Canberra Liberals
  • Chris Steel, ACT Labor
