‘Severe’ danger as fire ban goes on until Friday

WITH a forecast fire danger of “severe” predicted for tomorrow and the forecast for a week of hot weather, ACT Emergency Services Agency Commissioner Georgeina Whelan has declared a Total Fire Ban until midnight Friday (January 31).

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting extremely hot and dry conditions for the remainder of the week.

The ESA says fire moves quickly and is difficult to control in these conditions.
