THE plume visible across Canberra is from the Orroral Valley Fire, burning in the remote area of Namadgi National Park, and its smoke is predicted to hit the urban area of Canberra at about 8pm tonight (January 27).
ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Parks and Conservation Service firefighters are on scene working to contain the fire. Helicopters are undertaking water-bombing operations and aerial surveillance.
