Snow for Canberra today, says meteorologist

CANBERRANS will be able to see a light dust of snow on the Brindabella Ranges today (August 4), according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Meteorologist Helen Reid says there’s a possible chance of snow falling in areas above 700 metres in the western ranges today, overnight and tomorrow.

Then, come Friday (August 7), rain is forecasted for the Canberra region, and is predicted to last until Sunday. Snow will fall again from Friday, but only in areas above 1400 metres, Helen says.

Thredbo is expected to see a top up of snow over the next few days, too, but not a huge amount, she says.
