CANBERRA emergency service crews have responded to 60 calls for help after damaging winds wreaked havoc in the ACT today (July 27).
The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ACTSES) says most calls for help have been related to damage caused by strong winds including fallen trees and flying debris.
Strong winds are expected to continue until tomorrow and ACTSES advises the Canberra community to be mindful of their surroundings, not to stand or park their vehicles under trees and to stay away from fallen power lines.
Call 132 500 for help during storms or floods, or 000 in a life-threatening emergency.
