Teens arrested after murder of real estate identity

TWO teenage boys have been charged and one teenager has been arrested over the alleged murder of a Canberra real estate identity.

Canberra man Peter Keeley’s body was found in Broulee bushland.

Father of three, Peter Keeley, 56, was found dead in bushland near Broulee’s McNee Street at about 4.50pm on February 2. Police believe he arranged to meet someone in the south coast area using the Grindr app before driving there in his purple Honda Jazz.

Police say Mr Keeley suffered head and facial injuries, which fuelled extensive investigations and a public appeal last week.

Today (February 13), strike force detectives executed three search warrants at homes in the Broulee area.

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested and charged with murder.

A third 17-year-old boy has also been arrested in Broulee and is expected to be charged in relation to the incident.

Mr Keeley, who was well-known amongst the property community in Canberra, was named the Luton Properties for Residential Salesperson of the Year and Independent Property Group for Innovation Award as part of the 2012 REIA National Awards for Excellence.

Investigations continue.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page nsw.crimestoppers.com.au
