A 23-year-old man fleeing with stolen cash, was cornered by Icon Water workers in Evatt on Friday lunchtime.
The man, who is facing charges in the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (November 16), is accused of being armed with a knife and demanding money from a female staff member of a local business. He is alleged to have jumped the counter and opened the till before fleeing with the cash.
The staff member chased raised the alarm and two Icon Water workers at the shopping centre chased the man before cornering him on a footpath about 400 metres from the shop and recovered some of the stolen cash.
Following a search warrant early this morning, the 23-year-old was arrested and faces court on an aggravated robbery charge.
