A GROUP of about six young people have assaulted a woman in Civic, which sent her to hospital to receive treatment for injuries.

Police are looking to speak with a man who confronted the offenders and assisted the woman after the assault on City Walk, between Ainslie Place and Akuna Street, at around 8,40pm on Tuesday, November 3.

He is described as bald, of solid build and wearing shorts and a black, short-sleeved shirt.

They would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault who has not already spoken to police.

Anyone with information should call 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
