Driver didn’t stop after hitting 10-year-old

POLICE are looking for a driver who hit a 10-year-old girl on her way to school in Macgregor this morning (November 30) and drove off.

The girl was hit between 8.30 and 8.45am while crossing a pedestrian crossing on her bike on Osburn Drive near the intersection with Cannan Crescent, Macgregor.

She suffered minor injuries and was able to proceed to Macgregor Primary School where the ACT Ambulance Service was called to assist.

The driver of a white, older vehicle, possibly a station wagon did not stop and provide assistance. Police would like the driver to come forward to assist with the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference number 6974397. Information can be provided anonymously.
