5PM UPDATE: Fire crews have left the scene and Northbourne Avenue has been fully reopened.
FIVE crews have extinguished a fire in an empty building on Northbourne Avenue, Lyneham, this afternoon (June 19).
Two northbound lanes between Morphett Street and MacArthur Avenue are closed and the public is advised to avoid the area while crews remain on the scene to ensure the site is safe.
