Update: Police to question man months after Mitchell incident

The identity of a man that ACT police want to question over an incident.

A MAN wanted by police has come forward to assist officers in their enquiries.

Police had been forced to turn to the public for assistance after more than three months of investigations had not led to an arrest.

But the man handed himself into police on Friday (January 8) after his image was circulated in the media on Thursday.

It is not known yet what offence the man has allegedly committed.

CCTV footage had captured an incident on September 19 at a licensed Grimwade Street premises in Mitchell around 5am.

Police had previously spoken to a number of witnesses about the incident that had not helped to identify the man.

Investigations are ongoing, police say.
