ACT records first covid death in three weeks

A MAN in his 80s has died with COVID-19 bringing the ACT’s pandemic death toll to 127.

The last recorded covid death in the ACT was reported three weeks ago on September 30.

The ACT’s weekly covid update, released today, says that 579 covid cases were recorded in the ACT with 265 were detected via PCR and 314 via RAT.

There are currently 49 people in hospital with the virus including one person in intensive care.

On the vaccination front, 77.3 per cent of people aged five to 15 have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 60.7 per cent of people aged 50 and over have received four vaccinations.

The ACT has recorded a total of 207,667 covid cases since March 2020.
