A MAN in his 40s and a man in his 90s have died from COVID-19, ACT Health reports today (January 24).
Their deaths bring the total covid death toll in the ACT to 24. There were six deaths reported in the territory last week.
There were 756 new cases of the virus reported in the territory in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday, 472 of which were detected by PCR tests and 284 detected by rapid antigen tests (RATs).
There are now 5069 active cases in the territory, 1712 detected by PCR tests and 3756 detected by RATs.
There are 68 people in ACT hospitals with covid, “including three in intensive care and one ventilated”.
In terms of vaccinations, 39.6 per cent of people aged over 18 have now received their booster dose and 50.6 per cent of children aged five to 11 have now received one dose.
