COVID-19 cases and hospital numbers throughout southern NSW have significantly risen in the figures reported by the Southern NSW Local Health District today (January 19).
There were 669 new cases reported throughout the district with 22 people now hospitalised with the virus, up from the 14 reported yesterday. Three of those hospitalised are currently in intensive care.
Of the new cases, 554 were detected by PCR tests and 115 were detected by Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs), and the total active cases now stand at 3920.
There were 151 new cases reported in the Queanbeyan-Palerang area.
Elsewhere in Southern NSW there are:
- 142 new cases in the Bega Valley
- 118 in Eurobodalla
- 94 in Goulburn Mulwaree
- 25 in the Snowy Monaro
- 14 in the Upper Lachlan and
- 10 in the Yass Valley
