Fire in College Street, Belconnen

FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a fire on College Street, Belconnen, tonight (May 28) and the building has been evacuated. All occupants are unharmed.

The location of the College Street sire is shown in the “flame” diamond.

Smoke ventilation is underway and HAZMAT crews are on scene conducting atmospheric monitoring.

Emergency Services say College Street will remain partially closed while crews work to ensure the safety of the structure. The community is asked to avoid the area, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
