FORMER attorney-general and, most recently, high commissioner to the UK, George Brandis will join the ANU in a high-profile appointment from July 1.
Brandis has been appointed a professor in the practice of National Security, and will be primarily based at the National Security College in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.
ANU says Brandis will also lend his expertise to the ANU College of Law, where he will teach, and his work will focus on national security, law and policy.
Brandis joins former ASIO director-general Duncan Lewis as professor in the practice of National Security, as well as former secretary of Industry, Innovation and Science, Prof Heather Smith.
