Kyrgios in doubles quarterfinals at Australian Open

CANBERRA’S Nick Kyrgios and his doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis are into the Australian Open doubles quarterfinals.

The pair last night (January 23) defeated 15th seeds Gonzalo Escobar and Ariel Behar 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at Melbourne Park.

It took the talented Australian duo only three sets to win and comes just two days after they beat top seeds Mate Pevic and Nikola Metkic.

Kyrgios and Kokkinakis will face New Zealander Michael Venus and his German doubles partner Tim Puetz in the quaterfinal tomorrow (January 25).
