School buses return as students head back to the classroom

TRANSPORT Canberra will run an interim bus timetable with the inclusion of school services from January 31 until further notice.

Bus operations executive branch manager Ian McGlinn said all local services and the Rapid 10 will be running at least every 30 minutes and all other Rapids running at least every 15 minutes during the day and around every hour after 8pm during the week.

“From January 31, 233 dedicated school services, including ‘S’ trips which divert into school, will resume as students return to the classroom for the commencement of the school year,” he said.

A new bus service for Molonglo Valley residents will commence on January 31 which will connect the new suburb of Whitlam with Belconnen and Denman Prospect, including S-trip diversions to the Evelyn Scott School.

The new local bus route 47 will provide an hourly service on weekdays supporting the new community in Whitlam by providing connections with Denman Prospect and Belconnen.
