THE death of a woman in her 80s has taken the toll from covid so far this week to three people.
ACT Health reports her death today (January 25), which comes after two reported deaths yesterday and six last week. There have been 25 ACT deaths since the start of the pandemic.
New covid cases have jumped to 904 in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday. PCR testing revealed 546 new cases and 358 from rapid antigen tests.
There are 4829 active cases in Canberra.
Meanwhile, covid patients in ACT hospitals as at 8pm yesterday remained steady at 67, “including three in intensive care and one ventilated,” says ACT Health.
On the vaccination front, 41.1 per cent of ACT residents aged 18 have received booster shots and 54.5 per cent of children aged 5-11 have received one dose.
