WHEN the Canberra Hospital hydrotherapy pool closes later this month, hydrotherapy sessions will move to a new location in Canberra’s south.
The hydrotherapy pool at the Canberra Hospital will close on February 29 before sessions begin again at Kambah’s Aqua Harmony on Monday, March 2. But the relocation will not be permanent, says ACT Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith.
She says they will still explore options for new hydrotherapy services on the southside.
“I recognise that not everyone will be happy with this outcome, but I am pleased that we have been able to find a path forward and provide certainty in relation to short-term arrangements,” she says.
Today (February 14), Ms Stephen-Smith says the ACT government has also committed $305,000 over three years, which will provide 645 additional hydrotherapy sessions a year at Aqua Harmony with two qualified staff members.
