Griffyns meet Swine at Belconnen

YOU’LL have to hurry if you want to see this one, but everyone’s talking about The Griffyn Ensemble’s latest venture, a mini-festival Involving the ensemble and the  Swedish group The Pearls Before Swïne Experience and now they’re diving into a musical exploration of the  theme of water it covers almost everything you think of including Canberra Yacht Club’s history and Jervis Bay.

The Griffyns have been busy redefining the scope of Canberra concert concerts in the last couple of years and this one is no exception.

This culminating performance will feature newly composed music by composers from Canberra and Sweden as well as works made famous by Alec Wilder, The Beach Boys, and   the Andrew Sisters.

The concert will be developed with Kanga Birtles – a legend in the Australian sailing industry (once holding the Commonwealth record for the fastest solo circumnavigation of the globe) and long-time resident of JervisBay.

Griffyn and Swïne have been working  together at at Belconnen Arts Centre developing ideas and composing new pieces.

In the past, these twilight concerts at the centre, where Griffyn mixes music old and new have been enormously popular.
