‘The Mole’ flops in TV ratings

PRIME Network’s new show “The Mole” has been dumped to a later timeslot after failing to draw in television viewers.

The show, which was meant to be the replacement for the popular “House Rules”, has been pushed back to 9.30pm after three nights of poor ratings  until stronger programs like “Castle”, “Mr. Selfridge”, and “X Factor” come along.

The WIN Network on the other hand still has strong shows in their news programs, as well as “The Block: Sky High” which won’t finish until later in the month. WIN has a stable of programs still to come after the ratings hit finishes, including shows like “Big Brother”, “Australia’s Got Talent” and “Underbelly: Squizzy”.

WIN’s local news made the top 20 most viewed programs in Canberra, despite its recent controversial changes.

Southern Cross Ten’s coverage of the third test between the Lions and the Wallabies proved to be a hit for them, though it was their only real high-rating show, pulling in 54,000 viewers – a growth of 55 per cent from the second test.

Unfortunately, “Under the Dome” (their top program from last week) dropped nearly half its audience to just under 28,000 viewers. Early reports are showing that the program stabilised around the 30,000 mark this week.

Overall for the week, the biggest change was WIN growing two percentage points to secure 29 per cent of both total viewers, and the largest network share. Prime came in second with 24.9 per cent, the ABC with 23.7 per cent, and then SCN and SBS on 16.7 per cent and 5.7 per cent respectively.
