Arts / Stuart’s music takes audiences on a journey

CANBERRA pianist Stuart Long is promising the public “an intriguing and thought-provoking journey” in a “Lunchtime Live” concert of solo piano music at Wesley Music Centre.

The journey is to the worlds of two masters of polyphony, Johann Sebastian Bach & Gabriel Fauré.

Stuart has won a number of musical prizes, including several from the North Queensland Concerto & Vocal Competition.

He enjoys performing solo, as an accompanist and in chamber groups. He has been a regular performer at Wesley Wednesday concerts, both as a soloist and in small groups, including in several recitals with Canberra flautist Rick Lilienthal.

Long commenced his tertiary musical studies in 1990 in Wellington, New Zealand. He graduated in piano performance at the Canberra School of Music in 1995, studying with Alan Jenkins and Lillian Tan and has more recently studied with Colin Forbes.
