Canberra records 16 new covid cases

SIXTEEN new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday (December 20).

Active cases now number 124, with a total of 2183 cases since the outbreak began on August 12.

62 of the 124 active cases are the Omicron variant.

Three people remain in hospital with covid. None are in intensive care or on ventilators.

The percentage of ACT residents aged 12 and over who are fully vaccinated remains steady at 98.4.
