A NEW grants scheme offering financial support for veterans and their families has opened in the ACT.
Launched today (August 29), the ACT government’s Veterans Grants Program, offers veterans and their family members grants of up to $10,000 to help them stay connected in their community.
Veterans and Seniors Minister Emma Davidson said recent data reveals that Canberra has the highest number of current and former serving veterans.
“We know from the 2021 Census data that the ACT has the highest number of current and former serving veterans but also that they, and their families, can face unique challenges adapting to civilian life,” said Davidson.
“These grants support the individual needs of our veterans community – to build and foster relationships across the community, develop skills to live well and actively participate.”
