THE new pool at the Bungendore Sports Hub has been given a $5 million promise on the return of the NSW coalition government on March 25.

Nationals member for Monaro Nichole Overall said: “Additional funding for a new pool is necessary to see Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council provide it.

“This $5 million commitment is in addition to the funds determined by the independent valuation of the old pool site by the NSW Valuer General, 90 per cent of which has already been received by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council.”

The new 25 metre heated Bungendore Pool to be located at the Bungendore Sports Hub will feature eight swimming lanes, a kiosk and plant room.

“Once complete, the Bungendore Sports Hub will be a state-of-the-art facility, boasting six grass fields, six hard courts, sporting club facilities as well as the aquatic centre,” Mrs Overall said.

“In addition to our new $71 million High School for Bungendore, I also recently announced $167,640 towards a new playground at Bungendore Public School and tenders have gone out for upgrades to their basketball courts and construction of a new play space that I was also able to secure as part of our continuing contribution to our new Education Precinct.”

The advantages of living in a marginal seat….. I’m sure a name for this behaviour from political parties has come up in the news recently…. Come on Eden Monaro you’re smarter than this.
