‘Incident’ halts light rail in Civic

CANBERRA Metro operations is reporting that the light rail service in Civic has resumed after an “incident” that stopped tram services operating between Dickson and the Alinga Street terminus late Thursday afternoon.

A male is believed to have been struck by a tram around Cooyong Street and Northbourne Avenue.

Tram services were stopped for about an hour, although buses were used to ferry commuters from Civic to Eloura Street.

Another disadvantage of Light Rail compared with Bus Rapid Transit. Any accident causes a complete stoppage.
