THREE ACT companies have won national awards across the residential, commercial and civil sectors.
The three winners of the MBA 2023 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards are:
- Monarch Building Solutions, Winner of Best Use of Australian Made Products – Commercial – Kia Showroom
- Manteena, Winner of National Renovations/Extensions Award $650,000 to $1m – Deakin House
- Chincivil, Winner of National Civil/Infrastructure Award – over $25m – Acton Waterfront Phase 2
And ACT Apprentice of the Year, carpenter Mitch Gattenby, was named amongst the top three apprentices in Australia. He was trained at MBA Group Training in Fyshwick,
Master Builders ACT CEO Michael Hopkins said: “Monarch Building Solutions’ showroom fit-out featured an attractive, durable and cost-effective Polytec Plantation Ash Woodmatt laminate that was innovatively installed with precision at the curved junction of the walls and ceiling.
“Manteena’s renovation and extension lifted the original 1950s cottage to a modern and Spanish colonial styled home with beautiful curved-steel framed doors that show masterful technical expertise and a custom-fabricated sunken lounge.
“Chincivil’s inviting extension of the boardwalk adjacent to Henry Rolland Park around the West Basin of Lake Burley Griffin showcased exemplary organisation, planning and forethought that will serve the Canberran community and our visitors for many years to come.”
