Higgins traffic stop yields drugs and cash

A police photo of cash, drugs, cards and phones seized in a car search in Higgins.

Police seized drugs, cash and stolen items following a traffic stop in Higgins on Monday night.

At about 10pm police stopped a white Ford Focus while patrolling in Higgins. The 35-year-old driver was identified as a person whose bail conditions precluded him from driving and he was arrested.

A search of his vehicle found about 39 grams of methylamphetamine, a small amount of cannabis, more than $6600 in cash, clip seal bags, a set of scales, five mobile phones, a garage remote control cloning device, identity and bank cards in various names, gloves and a torch.

The man was charged with breaching bail, breaching a good behaviour order, driving while licence suspended, possessing drugs to supply to another person and going equipped for theft.
