Libs vow to remove paid parking after hours in Civic

The Canberra Liberals have vowed to remove paid parking at ACT government public carparks in the city centre after 5.30pm on weekdays and all weekend in a 12-month trial.

Leader Elizabeth Lee said this election policy would help boost economic activity and draw more Canberrans to Civic.

“Once the 12-month period is completed, a review will be undertaken with the view to making it permanent, and extending it to other town centres,” Ms Lee said.

“We know many businesses in the city precinct have been suffering due to a lack of people coming into the city and free parking during these designated times is just one measure to draw people in and help drive economic activity.”

They really do like pretending they have a magic pudding of a Budget, and they aren’t even in government lol. No wonder the Territory’s political situation sucks so much. An opposition completely devoid of reality, and a government who can’t stop spending.
