Man charged with assaulting and strangling partner

A 22-year-old Holder man is facing court after allegedly strangling and assaulting his partner on Saturday night.

Police say that throughout the evening, the man became aggressive towards the woman following a disagreement at their home.

The allege he pushed her to the ground, strangled her and dragged her by her hair. When she attempted to leave, the man is accused of  pushed her against a wall, strangling her, and hiding her car keys.

The woman managed to flee the residence and called the police.

By about 11pm, the man was under arrest and charged with two counts of strangling, forcible confinement, and aggravated common assault.
