Utilities relocation works to raise London Circuit will close Commonwealth Avenue to traffic in the northbound direction next weekend.
London Circuit is being raised in a $100 million project to accommodate Stage 2A of the tram route from Civic to Commonwealth Park.
The ACT government says Commonwealth Avenue will be closed to traffic in the northbound direction from 8pm Friday, August 16 to 6am Monday, August 19 between State Circle and Parkes Way, with only local traffic allowed for access to the National Triangle, and will be fully closed between Parkes Way and Vernon Circle.
Commonwealth Avenue will remain open in the southbound direction.
Traffic heading north will detour from Adelaide Avenue on to State Circle. The ramp from State Circle on to Commonwealth Avenue northbound will also be closed.
The government says active travellers will need to use the shared path along Commonwealth Avenue southbound in both directions across Parkes Way and London Circuit.
Only buses and local traffic for hotels and nearby buildings will have access to Commonwealth Avenue northbound during this time.
