Teen threatened and robbed of phone on bus

This is the male police are seeking to identify. In this supplied photo they have blurred his facial features.

A teenager was robbed on a bus in November and police are still looking for the culprit.

At about 6pm on November 22, a male wearing a black hat and mirrored sunglasses approached the teenager at the Woden Bus Interchange where they had a short conversation, before getting on to the same bus.

Police say the male approached the teenager and allegedly demanded their phone, threatening them with violence.

The teenager complied, and the male completed a factory reset on the phone before allowing the teenager  to get off the bus.

Police describe the male as African in appearance, with a slim build and wearing silver stud earrings at the time of the incident.

Anyone who can identify him should call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

One Response to Teen threatened and robbed of phone on bus

So in this article, the Police provided the photo again with a blurred image.
However, the article states: “…a male wearing a black hat…” as opposed to using the term ‘boy(s)’ – as per the recent vandalism story.
And our Bunnings assault/thief was called a woman – with face shown.
Yet this person is not being referred to with terms that implies underage – so why blur it?
Make of that what you will.
