Hospital cases rise as new covid numbers soften

HOSPITAL patients with COVID-19 in Canberra have risen to nine, but none are in intensive care nor on ventilators.

ACT Health is also reporting today (January 1) there were 448 new covid cases recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.

This is a small drop on yesterday’s record number of daily cases of 462.

Active cases have also fallen from yesterday’s 1658 to 1479 as people recover. However, the territory’s total number of cases since this outbreak began on August 12 has risen to 4324.

There were 3141 negative test results received in the 24 hours to 9am today.
