THE Australian Haydn Ensemble is a vibrant, youthful group of performers with international performance backgrounds who perform regularly with top orchestras such as London’s Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Gabrieli Consort on instruments from the 18th century.
Violinists Skye McIntosh and Helen Kruger, violist James Eccles and cellist Edwina Cordingley, will be in Canberra on September 6 to play, (yes, of course) Haydn’s “The Lark” and “The Fifths” and, as befits the season, Mozart’s “The Spring”.
Perth-born Kruger will perform on a rare Gagliano violin from the 18th century that she has purchased with help from The Stradivarius Trust in London.
