Gungahlin gets its pool

Andrew Barr and Katy Gallagher joined forces yesterday to open Gungahlin’s new “Leisure Centre”, which some might know as a “swimming pool”.

The new $28 million aquatic complex features a 50 metre and a 25 metre program pool, a children’s water play area as well as a gymnasium, short term childcare and a cafe. The centre will be managed in partnership with the YMCA.

More details are available on the YMCA website as well as a video tour of the gym facilities to a smooth techno beat. Just keep the elbows in.

Between the pool and the bus station it’s been a red letter week in Gungahlin.
