A new health research institute at the University of Canberra was launched today by Simon Corbell.

The institute will bring together a range of expertise across disciplines at UC to deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes for the community.

“This new institute will bring together a broad and diverse number of experts with different specialities including researchers, academics and clinicians,” Simon said.

“I am delighted to officially launch this institute, which has enormous potential to deliver research outcomes that will change and improve the way we deliver care.”

Researchers will work together to improve and address four key areas:

    1. Lifespan health and wellbeing;

    2. Disease prevention and treatment;

    3. Healthcare systems and health service research; and

    4. Technology for improved health and well being.

“The health research which will look at wellbeing, prevention, and how technological advances can be capitalised upon to improve health outcomes here in Canberra is very exciting.

“These areas of research are all critical to the ACT healthcare system as well as to health care systems right across the world.”
