GUNGAHLIN Community Council and Gungahlin College are gearing up for a festive Saturday that celebrates, well, Gungahlin.
“Celebrate Gungahlin” runs between 11am until 4pm this Saturday.
There’ll be performers like Johnny Huckle doing the Wombat Wobble for children, West Texas Crude for adults and Rachel Armstrong to entertain the teens.
Visitors can do a cartoon workshop with Michael Salmon, whose creation, Alexander Bunyip, has been immortalised in a Gungahlin sculpture by Melbourne artist Anne Ross.
There’ll be a variety of stalls, show bags from the Communities@Work stall, sports demonstrations with Gungahlin Giants, kit-making, face-painting, and a community selfie.
A raffle boasts a first prize valued at $6,000, a trailer with a cage loaded up with prizes, a second prize of $1,000 worth of travel through Gungahlin Flight Centre and a third prize of a Samsung tablet donated by Telstra Shop Gungahlin.
“Celebrate Gungahlin,” Gungahlin Town Park, on the corner of Hibberson and Gozzard Streets, Gungahlin, this Saturday, April 11 from 11am to 4pm. All welcome
