YOU”VE heard of solar cooking, but have you heard of heat retention cooking?
Retained heat cooking is a simple method that involves heating food to cooking temperature with a conventional stove or solar cooker before placing it into an insulated container to complete the process.
Solar whizz, Cindy Steensby is giving a talk about the advantages of retained heat cooking; how to use a cooker; very simple DIY building methods; and what types of food you can cook with it.
The Canberra Environment Centre is hosting the event on Tuesday February 17 with some light refreshments made the solar way.
6pm – 8pm, Canberra Environment Centre, $20 per person. Limited spaces available, book at ecoaction.com.au .
