“THE Triangle” is a new show at Canberra Contemporary Art Space that aims to   engage with the

Featuring works by Alison Alder, Alex Asch, Robert Boynes, Ham Darroch, Julian Laffan, Raquel Ormella, John Reid, Toni Robertson, Bernie Slater, the looks at “politics of the everyday, the mainstream, the party and the public.”

According to curator Alex Boynes, it would have been remiss to ignore the element of politics in Canberra art during this Centenary year. But far from being a grim exploration of this ever-present subject, his aim has been to seek artworks that approach the theme with “humour and honesty.”

“Burley Griffin’s Parliamentary Triangle has long been a centre of Government activity, debate and discussion in Australian politics. In borrowing Burley Griffin’s geometric framework, ‘The Triangle’ interrogates Canberra’s political heart from three angles: the local, the national and the international,” he says.

“The Triangle,” at Canberra Contemporary Art Space, Gorman House Braddon, until June 29.
