Canberra Bollywood dancers celebrate

CELEBRATIONS are due all around after Canberra’s own Canberra School of Bollywood Dancing was placed second runner up in the Indian Australian Idol & Dancing Star 2016 competition held in Sydney on July 9.

It was the first time ever competing in an event.

According to the school’s director, Krisha Jilson, their focus is on fun group lessons to help people keep fit and active. “Our dancers are school students, working mothers, full time workers, mums, and the list goes on,” Jilson says.

As “CityNews” readers know from a recent cover, this year the school celebrates 10 years of operation in Canberra.

On the way, the school was selected in the 2013 ACT Centenary Multicultural Award finalists’ list for entertainment services to Canberra.
