SHANE Rattenbury has opened Alfred Deakin High School’s new mountain bike track.
Joined by Alfred Deakin High School students and some of Canberra’s pro riders, Shane was one of the first to officially use the purpose built track.
“This is a great initiative by the school, promoting health and wellbeing among the students and providing members of the community another great facility to ride on,” Shane said.
“The mountain bike track has various levels of difficulty and can be used by those of varying skill levels.
“Canberra is well known for our mountain bike trails and I am pleased to have opened and try out Canberra’s newest addition.
“With mountain bike riding in Alfred Deakin High School’s health curriculum the track was built and designed to ensure students and the community had a safe and accessible track to learn and develop their skills on.
“This track provides a great option for all levels of bike riders and will be a great addition to the community, providing health benefits in a fun and exciting environment.” Mr Rattenbury concluded.
The track is located off Kent Street in Deakin and open to the community for use.
