Maruku Arts

PHOTOACCESS is holding a conversation tracing the stories of Maruku Arts on Saturday (July 6).

Curator Saha Jones will lead a walk through the exhibition and Maruku Arts general manager Clive Scollay will be on hand to talk about the history of this Anangu arts organisation based near Uluru in central Australia.

Maruku artists and senior knowledge keepers Billy and Lulu Cooley will demonstrate carving and burning new works, then tell stories of their desert country over a cuppa.

PhotoAccess, Manuka Arts Centre, 1pm-4pm, this Saturday, July 6, all welcome.

“Maru-ku: Belonging to Black,” will continue in the PhotoAccess Huw Davies Gallery until Saturday, July 13.
