CANBERRA’S indigenous health care service, Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services (WNAHCS), will close for two days after a person was there who unknowingly had covid.
Due to the number of staff required to isolate at this point in time as a precaution, ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman said this means Winnunga is closed today and tomorrow.
She said anyone who had a vaccination booked for today or tomorrow will be able to get their vaccination at the AIS clinic.
ACT Health is working very closely with Winnunga to communicate directly with anyone affected and to provide support on the way forward, she said.
Anyone who visited the main reception at the new Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service building in Narrabundah between 8.30am-4pm on September 10 will be classified as a casual contact.
Dr Coleman said these people are expected to, complete the ACT Contact Declaration Form, immediately quarantine and get tested for COVID-19 as advised by ACT Health.
