Rooftop solar soars high in the capital

ROOFTOP solar is growing fast, increasing by more than 17 per cent across the territory, during the last financial year.

There are now more than 28,000 solar generators with more than 119,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy generated in Canberra, according to data from the ACT government’s 2019-20 annual Feed-in Tariff report.

Rooftop solar generated 135 megawatts of installed capacity last financial year, that’s more than six times what the ACT’s large-scale Royalla solar farm generates.
