Teens set house alight while people slept inside

TWO teenage boys allegedly set a Goulburn house alight while a man and woman slept inside early yesterday (February 21) morning.

At about 5.45am, Fire and Rescue NSW quickly extinguished the blaze on Chisholm Street.

Officers then arrested two boys – aged 14 and 13 – at about 9.30am, and allege the boys poured accelerant around the home before setting it alight. It is further alleged a table was thrown through a window of the house.

At the time of the incident a 64-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were asleep.

They were uninjured and the house sustained minor damage.

The teens were interviewed and will be dealt with under the “Young Offenders Act”.
