Driver doesn’t stop after collision with motorcyclist

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital and the driver of the car the bike collided with failed to stop on the Monaro Highway, just north of the intersection with Lanyon Drive, Hume.

The collision, between a silver sedan and a black Suzuki motorcycle, occurred about 1.45pm yesterday (January 4).

Police say that before the collision, the motorcycle was believed to be travelling north on the Monaro Highway and was merging from the Lanyon Drive intersection. The collision caused damage to the front right-hand side of the car.

The motorcyclist was treated for minor injuries.

Police are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage and anyone with information should call  1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
