Person to face 72 counts of incest and child sex offences

A 27-YEAR-OLD will face 72 counts of incest and child sex offences after they are alleged to have sexually offended against their young sisters in a south Canberra suburb over seven years.

Detectives arrested the alleged offender at their north-western Sydney home on Monday (September 5), before extraditing them to Canberra where they will face the ACT Magistrates Court and the ACT Children’s Court today.

Police will allege that they violently sexually offended against their biological juvenile sisters between 2006 and 2013 and that the majority of the offences were committed when the offender was a child.

Two offences, however, will be heard before the ACT Magistrates Court.

If this story has caused distress the National Domestic Family and Sexual Violence Counselling Service can be reached on 1800 737732. Lifeline on 13 11 14.
